To this special Person

Anyway to this special person, i understand from Anthony about your successful application to be an ACM. keep it up. The initial hurdles may be overwhelming. For e.g., the committes you inherit may be in a mess. Their accounts may be in a mess. Your GRLs may not trust you. Do not RUSH and be in a HURRY to set things right. Do not panic but learn to calm down and always look at the big picture.

Initially, you will be overwhelmed by many nitty gritty mundane details. By all means, just write down all the tasks you have to do on a piece of paper. Always clear the tasks that involves your GRLs FIRST. Always leave the tasks that you can complete solely on your own the LAST. In the first month, try to grasp the working style of your committee chairman.

As starters, if you have queries, start by smsing them 1st because i assume your GRL would be working. If you got really urgent matters, maybe you can try just calling them during their lunch hour or after their work hours say after 8pm. Always remember that you are "paid while your GRLs are not."

Initially, there may be some conflicts. But always use your sincerity to touch your GRLs. Show to them that your committee is not jz a means for you to get promoted or earn a higher bonus. But show that you CARe. This will mean say volunteering to help your GRLs; be it shopping for lucky draw prizes with them etc. Of course, please set the limit and NOT over-pamper your GRLs. For starters, check with your fellow ACMs how they treat their committee and try not to spoil the market too much.

Hmmm..dear 'stranger' with a kind soul...tis entire wk was a challenging one for me indeed..1st day..no one talk to me except for a CSO who showed me to my "mt-everest lookalike" desk.with no leg space for stretching.. i spent the next few days combing the hill for any possible "treasures" ---"Seek & u shall find!" Indeed..found a few gems..haha :D but found myself with sore arms the following day..:P 2nd day..my DVD rom Tray FELL OUT LITERALLY... i was flabbergasted..n i tot my heart stopped beating in that instance.. thank GOD i had Anthony as my "help-line" he taught me wat to tell the helpdesk..n thank GOd for helpdesk with a sense of humour.."PHEW"! nway went to observe a meeting and clock 14hrs of manhours on my 2nd day nitemarish......tasked to go for many briefings and trainings (which i actually found refreshing rite now :P mayb i m still FRESH!) and tomo i be duty mgr..WINNER!.... nway to cut the long story short.. i m comforted by ur kind words.. it means a lot to someone who's really struggling with the CO who's not really v. friendly nor helpful rite now.. but i believe i will MELT the ice-berg one fine day.. coz if i dun tire out by then..i guess i shld ritefully REAP..rite? Makes sense? yah i hope so... MAY THE FORCE BE WITH ME .. pls pray for me k...

i m seeking by following the wisdom of the Little prince with my heart..hopefully i can find wat i m looking for in the CO.. :D

"People where you live," the little prince said, "grow five thousand roses in one garden... yet they don't find what they're looking for..."

"They don't find it," I answered.

"And yet what they're looking for could be found in a single rose, or a little water..."

"Of course," I answered.

And the little prince added, "But eyes are blind. You have to look with the heart."

Dear twinkletots,

yup it takes time for people to warm up to newbies. :p ha it's common. Well, my advice to you is.. all else fails. jz smile.;p.

take small steps. Join your colleagues for lunch. When your colleagues are chatting a certain topic in office/at lunch, pay attention. Ha.. i mean when they ask you for your opinion, you can quickly give your thoughts.

My belief is that your colleagues could be more shy than you lol.

I think the CSOs in most COs are experienced and should be respected. Show humility and respect when you learn counter stuff from them. :p.

Steep learning curve is expected. I think of cz the best way is to pick up your essential skills e.g. handling One Pa for transactions and be operational as earliest as you can. But this been said, do not pressure yourself la. :p if you have Qs . ASK!. Stil dun understand ASK! again. If still brain blocked.. hmm take a rest.. then think about it again.

Ha I believe GOd placed you in this CO for a purpose. Just like how HE arranged for you to stumble on my blog. Whatever you do, jz feel the peace in your heart 1st. No peace.. then dun do 1st lar.

I believe you have a sweet smile. use it.. to bring joy and delight to the residents who walk into your CO, the GRLs who will be working with you. I believe you are the incoming SUNSHINE for the folks in your constituency.

Ha. just.. be natural, smile and remember to BREATHE.. wor!. GOd has also surrounded you with wise counsel friends like Anthony and even myself. ;p. GOD BLESS!!!!
